A Magical Summer Wedding at Highcliffe Castle: Dani & Jon’s Unforgettable Day
Last June, I had the incredible pleasure of photographing Dani and Jon’s winter wedding at the breathtaking Highcliffe Castle. Nestled in the heart of Dorset, Highcliffe Castle provided the perfect backdrop for this beautiful couple’s big day. From the romantic ceremony in the Wintergreen Room to the intimate couple portraits by the beach, this wedding was nothing short of magical.
A Stunning Ceremony in the Wintergreen Room
Dani and Jon’s ceremony took place in the elegant Wintergreen Room at Highcliffe Castle, with its majestic views and timeless charm. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends in this intimate, light-filled space. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, reflecting their love for one another. The soft light filtering through the large windows made for some truly stunning images that captured the emotions of the moment perfectly.
Embracing the Weather: A Fun Bubble Exit
Though the weather was a bit unpredictable, with light rain falling after the ceremony, Dani and Jon decided to embrace it and make the most of the moment. Instead of confetti, they opted for a playful bubble exit, and it was a stunning choice. The bubbles glistened in the air, creating a magical atmosphere as they made their way through the arch of loved ones. It created a lot of natural laughter, adding such a fun vibe, with some people using bubble guns, and others blowing the bubbles. It made for some really unique photos that will take them back to that moment every time they look at them.
A Cosy Drinks Reception in the Exposed Brick Dining Room
Following the bubble exit, the guests moved to the gorgeous, rustic Dining Room. The exposed brick walls, vintage charm, and warm lighting made for an intimate and welcoming setting for their drinks reception. As a photographer, this space offered a beautiful mix of textures and natural warmth, making it an ideal location to capture candid moments and portraits of the newlyweds with their guests.
Chasing the Sun: Stunning Beach Photos
The rain soon stopped, and as luck would have it, we were able to head down to the beach for some stunning couple shots. The contrast of Dani’s beautiful white wedding dress against the coastal backdrop was simply breathtaking. The wind picked up just enough to lift Dani’s gown and blow her long brown hair in the breeze, adding an ethereal quality to the images. Every shot seemed to capture the love and joy they felt in that magical moment.
Vintage Red Car: A Touch of Glamour
Before they took off for their next adventure, Dani and Jon made a grand exit in a gorgeous red vintage car, adding a touch of glamour and elegance to their day. As they drove past the castle, I was able to capture the car’s vibrant color against the stone walls, making for some unforgettable photos. The combination of the castle, the car, and the newlyweds made for an iconic shot that truly encapsulated the beauty and grandeur of their wedding day.
