Maternity sessions have a different kind of magic about them.
They are full of excitement, wonder and anticipation, and yet there is something wonderfully peaceful about them too. It's one of the few times in life where you know that everything is about to change, yet, for a just a little while, time seems to stand still.

A couple of months ago, I met Tyler and Kian at Southbourne beach for an evening together before they became Mum and Dad.
The whole session wasn't really about pregnancy, it was about him,
The little boy they already loved so deeply, even though they hadn't met him yet.
An Evening of Natural Maternity Photography
We spent an hour and a half wandering along the shoreline as the sun slowly began to set. There wasn't a plan or a long list of poses to work through, we had a few that I set up, and then we spent time chatting, talking of their plans and hopes for the future. We really made the most of a beautiful Dorset evening.
Capturing the Connection Before Baby Arrives
Tyler had brought a few different outfits with her, and she looked absolutely incredible in every single one of them. Something that really stood out to me is how attentive Kian was to her, and how that little boy is being born into a couple with lots of love in their hearts. We paddled in the sea, they sat on rocks, and we watched the sky slowly change colour.

I think the sunset sessions are so special and precious, especially when you're waiting for a baby to arrive.
Before the sleepless nights begin, and tiny newborn fingers wrap around yours, and suddenly your pregnancy feels like so long ago.
It is such a special time, and it is so important to capture it.
